Philadelphia 76ers vs. Washington Wizards Game Preview
The Philadelphia 76ers and Washington Wizards are facing off on Monday evening at Wells Fargo Center
Last Wednesday, the Philadelphia 76ers were nearly in for a rude awakening from the Washington Wizards. However, they held on for a five-point victory behind a 50-point performance from Joel Embiid.
Not to mention, the superstar big man added 13 rebounds and seven assists on efficient shooting. For Philadelphia, they are hoping to show a more convincing victory over the 3-18 Wizards.
Washington is not in a position to contend for an NBA championship. This means their most valuable players, Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma, could see a change of scenery at the trade deadline.
If 76ers fans were hoping to see a healthy roster against Washington, their wish may not come true.
Here’s the injury report:
76ERS
Ricky Council IV: Out - G League - Two-Way
Joel Embiid: Questionable - Left Knee Soreness
Javonte Smart: Out - G League - Two-Way
Terquavion Smith: Out - G League - Two-Way
WIZARDS
Johnny Davis: Out - Left Calf Strain
Daniel Gafford: Questionable - Right Hip Contusion
Ryan Rollins: Out - Right Knee Strain
Landry Shamet: Out - Right Rib Sprain
Delon Wright: Out - Left Knee Sprain
The absence of Embiid is always crucial, but it may not impact the outcome of the game. The Wizards are among the worst teams in the NBA, sitting as the No. 14 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Despite the chance of the reigning MVP on the sideline, Philadelphia’s lineup still appears superior.
A look at the projected starting lineups:
PHILADELPHIA
G - Tyrese Maxey, De’Anthony Melton
F - Nicolas Batum, Tobias Harris
C - Joel Embiid
WASHINGTON
G - Tyus Jones, Jordan Poole
F - Deni Avdija, Kyle Kuzma
C - Daniel Gafford
Philadelphia is looking to get rid of its inconsistency with a dominant win over Washington.
